Sokolniki plant started to work in 1950s as a workshop of Kharkov State Aircraft Manufacturing Company. KSAMC was one of the first enterprises in the Soviet Union that along with strategic products for defense industry began to manufacture consumer goods in after-war years. The years passed, the demand for consumer goods was high, and the reputation of Kharkov aircraft manufacturing plant required to produce top quality products. The team of Sokolniki set up automated production lines, mastered and implemented advanced technologies of chromium plating, magnetic presswork, plastics casting, vacuum and electro-static spraying, etc. All consumer goods production lines were soon transferred to workshop 070. However, as the demand for consumer goods grew, and technologies were advancing further, the management of Kharkov State Aircraft Manufacturing Company decided to build a separate production plant for consumer goods manufacturing, which was later called Sokolniki. Today Sokolniki is a leader of camp furniture production in Ukraine. The plant offers reliable and convenient furniture for home and camping, ladders, strollers and sleds, equipment for playgrounds and many other products. The plant is a participant and a prizewinner of many exhibitions and fairs.
